Towards The end

Almost everything is ready . The only thing that is holding me back is that I am still waiting for the chambers to arrive by post , Besides that the bike is ready for the first start after 2,5 years. Will be putting some parts off the body panels today.

Cylinders ready to be ported !!

Its been awhile and I am seriously starting to miss riding my rgv ... Had to sent my cylinders twice to Holland in order to have them replated since the first time , the least I can say , was unsatisfactory ... Anyway the cylinders are back and in perfect condition ... Now its time to port them and most important polish all the ports to perfection ...
Hope I will manage to ride my beauty by September ...

Power Valves Pics

This is the last problem I have to overcome .. It is very usuall problem for the VJ22 RGV .. The pin either snaps or destroys the middle part lettong it slip in to the cylinder .. The solution is either to replace all the valves with brand new aftermarket ones or place pin implants ...

I will either buy or manufacture my own implants ...

Cylinder Head Pics

I think its needless to spot the differences between the stock heads and the sweet kit spec heads by Con Dziobon .. These straight cut heads are volumed for unleaded fuel and have angled squish bamd and conical chambers .

Bottom End Pics

The bottom end is ready ...!!!!!!!!!!! . Everything new , everything replaced . Also included new clutch plates .. Crankcases were polished and slightly ported . The oil pump was tested to insure that it still works. Reed cages remained stock with stock reeds .

23D70 SAPC

Browsing on e-bay found this aprillia 23D70 SAPC box ...

According to rgv250.co.uk

"Aprilia ignition box. It was derived from the 23d10, but they changed the ignition timing to be slightly retarded compared to the race-kit box, and modified the opening times of the power-valves. It has 4 degrees of pre-ignition, but with the 5 degree ignition advancer kit (FZR400 woodruff key) it would produce almost the same advance curve as the 23d10. NOTE: Having now run the box back to back with a 22D30 on the dyno
(Jan 05) no difference could be found. I wonder if the Aprilia "tweaks" are just urban myth?"

However I decided to give it a try .. It will be interesting to see if it will make any difference on a modified motor compared to the standard 22D30 SAPC..
Anyway I only paid 5 quid for it ..

Motor so far ..

Ok ... Crankcases and Cylinders are being polished and ported by my mechanic .
It is so Unfortunate that I can not add any pictures at the moment .
SAPC valves will also be  blended  into the exhaust port in order to improve gas flow
and add more HP....!!! The engine will be then fully assembled and stored until all bodywork  and frame polishing is done ....
Hopefully I will upload pictures of the engine ...

New Crankshaft

I was having in mind to rebuilt my old crankshaft.
However calculating the cost of every and each part I was suprised to see that it added up to the cost of buying
a totally new Suzuki Crank.
So I had no second thoughts .
My new crank is on its way , furthermore cylinder have already
been sent to Holland for replating .
So next step for the time being is polishing and porting the  crankcases !!
